Pregnancy Update: Thirty-Eight Weeks

December 26, 2019 · Life, Pregnancy, Scout Lucille

I hope you all had the happiest of holidays!

The Benfields had a wonderful time. We’re counting down the days until we get to meet Baby Dilly. Everything is ready to go — we just need a tiny human now!

I’ve gained 31 pounds total, and I feel great. The Braxton Hicks have gotten ahold of me — mainly in my lower back area, mainly feeling like period cramps on crack — but nothing of substance or progress. At this week’s appointment, I’m still only dilated to 1/2 cm, so it doesn’t look like Lil’ Critter will be coming any time in the next few days.

At 38 weeks, Dilly is as big as a mini watermelon … and I believe it. Gone are the days of the adorable little kicks. We’ve progressed to giant alligator rolls. He/she should be around seven (!!!!) pounds now! It’s crazy to me, that I’ve spent the last nine months doing this and it’s flown by … and now it’s creeeeeeeping long so slowly. I’ve loved this period of life so much, but I’m more than ready to start the next chapter.

Here’s to hoping for a New Year’s Eve baby! Dilly will never be lacking for a birthday party 🙂

why, hi. i’m ty.

why, hi. i’m ty.

I'm Tyler (you can call me Ty). Tyler Lucille, if you wanna be formal.

I'm a thirty-six year old new mom, a lawyer, and the introverted wife of a wildly extroverted photographer.

I believe:

- you don't have to be twenty-five to be fashionable or fun.
- vegan food doesn't have to taste like lawn clippings
- you can save money and pay down debt without feeling like a deprived loser
- travel isn't just for the super rich boomers (or super broke kids).

... so that's what I write about!
